I agree with a lot of the comments... great forward pack and subs, exciting looking backs, however what more does Ryan Lamb have to do to get a call, Charlie Hodgson has had a reasonable season but we all know about his temprement in the big game. I fell that this England team hasnt got a huge amount of pressure to win whilst they are on the road so why not really try out a few selections and see if thesee guys are ready to be phased in over the next two years. I pose a question the if teh saxon side was to go up against the full side who would come out victors ?? the only clear advantage I see the full side having is in the front rown ... does anybody else agree ?

come on martin where is sinbad ,why have you picked hodgson the biggest bottler in the rugby buisness .while i like les v as a player, i dont think he was ready for this tour so to leave him was a good call.hartley is the best hooker in england and he will be a hit in nz.ben foden i feel should have got the nod at fullback while i dont see how mike tindall should have even be looked at the useless lump.i hope this is not going to be another england manager who picks a side on reputation and not form.i have every respect for martin j but dont pick a side on sentiment look what mr ashton did and got us stuffed by wales, unforgivable.get will carling involved with england again .when he was skipper players were selected for the right reasons

What has Richard Haugton got to do to get a look in? He has played so well and even the Sky pundits have commented on his obvious talents. It appears that the selections will continue to come from the popular clubs with this new regime. Im very disappointed.

Very talented squad of players, but where is the in-form wing/full back Richard Haughton?

I think we can see the Johnson 'no nonsense' hallmark in this selection. Out go those who were poor in the 6 Nations (Balshaw, Vainikolo et al). In come those who deserve a chance. Typicla Johnson - no nonsense, just do the right thing. Good times ahead. Care could make a name for himself here.

What has Tom Varndell got to do to be in an england squad. I don't exactly think the so called suprise selections are that suprising as most commentators have been predicting most of them, but Varndell has been consistantly excellent over the past few seasons, almost always near the top of the try scoring list and much more solid defencively this year. I am certian he deserved a place on the tour, much more than Ojo who has put in only a few top performances this season. I was a big advocate of bringing Johnson in and think he will be excellent and i think selecting an interim skipper is a good idea, gives Borthwick the chance to put his hand up but lets those who want the job know they can be considered if they peform whilst on tour. Is Borthwick the kind of skipper that will strike fear into the hearts of the opposition, we will see, i am yet to be convinced in the Premiership but i think a fresh start is a good idea.

Generally happy with the team goin to New zealand and really happy to see the likes of Topsy Ojo and Danny Care given a chance. However i was shocked not too see Harry Ellis going as a number 9 because before his injury he was englands number 1 and he has been back on form since coming back from injury so i would take him over Richards.

I really feel for James Simpson-Daniel, who has been the standout back in the premiership. Either another shoddy selection excluding him, or a bad time to have to have a shoulder operation. Here's hoping he's back in the team for the AIs.

Johnson has a good balance about this squad... with plenty of grunt up front and some flair in the backs. Topsy Ojo deserves his chance as does the highly-talented Danny Care - and expect these tow to be in the Test side. Disappointed that Ryan Lamb didn't get the nod over Charlie Hodgson while I thought Ben Foden deserved a call-up. Will be keen to see how Rob Webber does for the Saxons - he is a real talent and one to watch out for!
