I think Berbatov is a class-act. He has technique and flair that is up their with the best and I think under Fergie he could become a great player. He would give us another dimension in attack with his height. I still like the tevez-rooney combination from last season but it would be nice to have another option. Only problem is, 25 to 30 million seems a bit steep for a 27 year old. If a better price can be negotiated then it would be a good deal. As for Ronaldo, I would still love him to stay but it doesn't look like its possible. He is a great player and he'll be a legend no matter where he plays. United will cope but its still sad that he seems to have his heart set on Real Madrid. If I look at it from another perspective, if I was playing for Real Madrid or any other team for example, and Man Utd came in for me, even if they were playing in the championship, I would go there because I love Man Utd. Maybe Ronaldo just has that same kind of love for Real Madrid. That said, if his comments to the media are indeed true, he hasn't gone about it very disrespectfully.

I personally think that Ronaldo should just go. Madrid should come up with the cash and put a formal bid in. £60m - £100m is an amazing sum of money when you consider the great Zidane holds the record at £47m. Ronaldo has been a great servant to the club but he has burnt his bridges and I think no-one is bigger than the club. There was life after Van Nistelrooy and Beckham after all. United should use the funds from Ronaldo's transfer to move for the likes of Benzema or Huntelaar as a new forward is needed. Replace Cristiano with Quaresma or David Silva. Obviously he will never have a season as good as lasts' again so cash in before his value drops back to £30m. Lampard won't ever leave or be allowed to leave Chelsea. Ronaldinho to Milan as City are not glamourous or prestigeous enough. Barry to Liverpool and they will still struggle to 4th place with Everton!!! Every year Liverpool fans say "This is our year." However they will never win the league with Rafa. They buy duff players who are only good at small clubs. i.e. Jermaine Pennant (Arsenal reject) and Kuyt(Headless chicken). When they buy 4 or 5 world class players without selling the average squad players (Alonso) then they will do well. Until then it's a race between Chelsea and United for 1st. Arsenal 3rd and LIverpool/Everton/Spurs 4th.

About time the Hammers started doing some business otherwise we're going to struggle next season. Bye Bye Zamora (Fulham), Neill (Man City), Panstil (Fulham) and Etherington (Anywhere). Bring in some new blood... Bullard (Fulham) please! Plat him in the centre with Noble, Dyer and Faubert down the wings. Let Sears loose up front with a fully fit Ashton. Keep hold of Ferdinand, pair him up with Upson. Then get rid of the rest of the deadwood at the club, ie. Bellamy, Spector, Quashie and Boa Morte.

If United sign Aguero then they are always going to be doing well - Berbatov is aging and has peaked earlier in his career, while Aguero is young. Klaas Jan Huntelaar is also a good idea but Aguero is a better move than Huntelaar. No new twists in the Ronaldo saga, but as nobody really knows how much money Real Madrid are willing to pay, it's impossible to make a verdict on whether United should let him leave. Ronaldinho will not go to Manchester City in my opinion. AC Milan will be his prefered decision going into the finalisation of his future on thursday. Lampard should see out his contract, but I expect he will not sign a new deal, I don't understand Chelseas decision not to cash in on him now if he wants to leave - next year he is free to leave for free anyway. Barry may well go to Arsenal - Liverpool will have trouble signing him due to the dispute between the two clubs. This is a good move for Barry and I hope he goes to Arsenal it is only good for the club and himself. Adebayor wants to go - he is a greedy man, like most footballers. If he gets more money at AC Milan or Barcelona he will probably leave, paving the way for Arsenal to get a new, better striker who takes more percentage of chances than Adebayor did! Andrei Arshavin should and could well go to Arsenal, wise decision, better decision than Chelsea. Colin Kazim-Richards, Lucas Niel and Tal Ben-Haim are all targets for Manchester City and I hope we land all of them as they can only bolster the clubs ranks in hope of a sucsessful 08-09 campaign. Come on you blues!

I think Steven Hammill, like many Liverpool supporters, is fast coming to realise that Liverpool have no money. Face it, you are the only team of the "top 4" without any real financial clout and can't afford either Barry or Keane despite making a lot of noise about it. I have no vested interest in this 'cos Barry is gone but if Barry is valued by Villa at £18M then Liverpool must pay £18M. That's how it works...altough I agree it's a lot of cash for yet another player to join Rafa's great rotation.

This message is aimed at Steven Hamill the Liverpool fan. Just think you need a few home truths. One, Villa aren't just a mid table team, we have a billionaire owner and lots of good players and probably the best british manager apart from Alex Ferguson. Two, I firmly believe that Gareth Barry is only leaving because of the stage where he is at in his career. Three, there is no way that you can afford Ashley Young and Agbonlahor if you are paying your entire budget on Gareth Barry! Few home truths for you! There is no way on earth that you can battle with the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea financially or on the pitch so don't go putting yourself in the same bracket as them! When did u last beat Manchester United??? I seriously believe that Benitez fears Aston Villa, as he is doing all he can to take the heart out of our team. With players like Alonso, mascherano, Gerrard in middle. Why else would Benitez want Barry??? I could go on and on for ages here. I just think your message was totally out of order and disrespectful. There's going to be a lot of bad blood between Liverpool and Aston Villa from here on in, mainly because of Liverpools awful way of going about business. Good luck anyway! You'll need it if you're gna achieve anything more than usual!

As and avid follower of Spurs, i genuinely would be sad to see Berbatov leave. I think there has been a pattern emerging over the last 5-10 yrs in that future starlets prove their worth at lower end premiership clubs, then make a step up from mediocrity ie; Michael Carrick, West Ham to Spurs, then on to megastardom at Man Utd. Every player has only a few years at the top of their game unless they are a true legend, so you cant blame them for wanting to play at the best clubs! Having said that clubs like Spurs, Villa, Man City, Pompey who are all worthy of pushing for a top five place, will never have the chance to progress if their squads are constantly being scrutinised and broken up by the top four, what with all the transfer speculation! If Spurs could get £20 million plus for Berba and bring in Podolski or Villa then it wouldn't be so bad, but for class there isn't anyone quite like Berbatov, between Keane and Berba 112 goals in 2 seasons is incredible, Spurs should hold on to their strikers and spend spend spend on wingers and defenders, Bentley seems an attractive proposition, as does Diego Capel and Luis Gargia from Espanyol, we could wrap up these three for less than £30m and have a totally complete squad, with Gomes joining in goal, and Modric running the midfield like a fiery, quicker Carrick we shouldn't have any problem supplying the strikers with better ammunition, in all fairness its the only reason Berba and Keano haven't scored 35 goals each for the last two seasons, with the likes of Lennon, Jenas, Malbranque delivering passes its no wonder why? They're all runners unlike Huddlestone who you can bet will be a much fitter, and more attractive overall player next season, assists, consistency, and a good back four would have ensured Spurs a top four finish last two seasons, come on Ramos, come on Spurs. Ps. Ronaldinho at Man City...do me a favour! Shinawatra is a joke, Eriksson should have never gone

Forgive me for saying this, but not everyone is talking sense in here. At the end of the day, can you seriously see the likes of Eto'o, David Villa and Arshavin at a club like Tottenham? I'm sorry, but I can't. I agree with Fisher that no player is bigger than the club. MU will survive without Ronaldo should he leave, just as Spurs will survive without Berba should he leave. I don't really fancy him being at MU anyway.. he is good, don't get me wrong. But he's got a problem with his attitude. I'd like to see the likes of Huntelaar, Santa Cruz, or Sergio Aguero at Old Trafford, but doubt they'll be there this Season. Perhaps it'll be nice for Ferguson to surprise us with something special. Or maybe he has a lot of faith in Manucho. My only hope is that he'll not turn into another Forlan. Anyway, Arsenal should cash in on Adebayor if someone is willing to pay 30 million pounds for him.

I am already extremely excited by the prospects on Middlesbrough's chances this season. Gareth Southgate has been building a team bit by bit and is finally just about there with the last peace, the mid field. Boro have solid centre backs in Huth, Weater, and Poggy with reliable full backs in Young and Taylor. Upfront we will be spoilt for choice when the forgotton talent of Mido will prove everyone wrong and will get the star potencial back he once had at Roma. With Tuncay and Alves also gaining from first season experience every boro fan expects a lot more from the pair, same with aliadiere since it was really his full debut season in the Premier Leauge. With Digard and Emnes as new young talent it will be interesting to see how they fit in, however i am not totally convinced by Southgates pursuit of James Harper, if i am honest i would rather retain Mr George Boeteng, as he is heart and soul Boro and is indetrsuctable! I would Like Boro to make a move for Scot Carson as 3,5m agreed by stoke seems extremely cheap especially as he is the future England Keeper. I done feel like Boro are in safe hands wif Jones and Turnbill, however it would be nice to give them the chance as they have played second fiddle for Mark Swazcher to long and it will be good to see some else between the two sticks. Apart from that i think boro shud not buy anymore players as the club do not have the money and would simply be burning it. HULL IF YOU DO SECURE THE SIGNING OF GEORGE BOETENG YOU ARE GETTING ONE HECK OF A FIGHTER WHO WILL GIVE YOU A GREAT CHANCE OF STAYING UP, CONSIDING THE 1M PRICE TAG ASWELL ITS A BARGAIN, GOOD LUCK GEORGEEEE!!!

Spurs should let Berba go, he does not offer the team as much as Keane and without Berba, Bent would get more of a chance to prove his worth! The money would also allow Juande to bring in the players that he wants to improve the team as a whole. Berba will always be a yido for what he has done for the club and what he did in the League Cup final, I foe one will always love Dimitar Berbatov even if he leaves.

I can't understand why Manchester City are still thinking that they have a possibility of signing Ronaldinho, he is a superstar player and their team is average, he want to prove himself again in a big team and it will be horrible if he decided to end his career at city, i can only see him moving to Milan or staying at Barca and prove himself again.

Man United have agreed a deal in principal to sign Sergio "kun" Aguero from Athletico Madrid for £30 million next summer, thus allowing Cristiano Ronaldo to leave and pursue his "dream" move to Real Madrid.

When are Celtics big signings going to start, who is this McCourt and why are we signing players of this calibre. We should have followed up in our pursuit of Roman Pavluchenko, even if the asking price is out of reach because it shouldn't be because we have the third richest owner in britain owning 3.12billion pounds and yet we still cant compete when it comes to bidding against Premiership opposition.Samaras would be a decent aquisition but there are better players than him out there

Spurs should sell Berbatov to make way for Pavluchenko and Keane will leave to make way for Arshavin but only if Spurs can beat of Barca and their great rivals Arsenal

I can't believe we are buying Bobby Zamora and for 6.5 million. Last Season sanchez wasted millions on complete rubbish and now hodgson is doing the same. We should be in for the likes of Bent or Johnson. We seem to be buying championship standard players for massive amounts of money when other premiership teams are getting quality players for for alot less. We need quality if we are going to stay up!!!

SInce when was Berbatov worth 30 Mil? Messi maybe but I could not ( and would not) want to see Berb at the Reds. Yes he has the potential but every season he has flopped. All Manchester United need is one brilliant striker under the age of to go with the twins he signed in defence. Ransford Osei looks like a star for the future too.

Spurs have lined up four possible replacements for Berbatov. Pavlyuchenko from Moscow for £12m, Santa Cruz from Blackburn for £15m, Cardoza from Benfica for £9m and Eto'o from Barcelona for £18m. They also have replacements in line should Keane leave. David Villa from Valencia for £25m, Arshavin from Zenit for £20m and Luis Garcia from Espanyol for £9m. Ramos is said to favour Eto'o and Villa as the two replacements.

Some good debate here. Firstly, get rid of Ronaldo, he is an absolute disgrace to MUFC. I have a big feeling that SAF will get Ronny from Barca the same day as Ronaldo goes to RM and becomes another failed superstar. Why hasnt Ronaldinho signed for any other club yet?? Because he knows we will get him and he would love the chance. OK, he had a poor season just gone with injuries but still in the top 4 of the best players in the world! SAF should also go for Huntelaar and that kid from Athletico Madrid, he is briiliant
