Niall Cossins (Portsmouth fan) says...

Watching the lads lift the cup from a Wembley seat was not something i or anyone other Pompey fan there will ever forget - i have never seen so many tears and cheers in one place! Harry deserved to win - to bring us from an Old Div 1 relegation battle 5 years ago to a comfortable top half Premier league side and FA Cup Winners is an incredible feat these days - especially with a lower budget than most teams. I'll be there when Harry Redknapps Blue & White Army travel Europe!

Just about recovered from a fantastic weekend!! - Many thanks to Dave Jones and the boys they did us proud. The atmosphere was incredible, and both sets of supporters were magnificent. Congratulations to Harry and Portsmouth and good luck in Europe.

Byron (cardiff fan) Smith says...

Congratulations Portsmouth! I haven't met a single Cardiff fan with any gripes about the result. Disappointed we didn't win, of course, but now we just want you to do well in Europe. Best of luck.

It was nice seeing two unfancied sides competing in a cup final deffying all the soccer pundits predictions on who is going to win the cup.this demostrated the fact that in football anything can happen.Big up Pompy you deserved it.

This is what the FA cup is all about, seeing Portsmouth v Cardiff at Wembley was an honour, as a proud Portsmouth fan seeing portsmouth lift the cup was a dream come true. To see that so many pompey fans turned up yesterday to welcome back our heros. You wouldn't get that atmosphere if any of the top four won. This weekend will live with every pompey fan forever. PLAY UP POMPEY ! ! !

Great day and thought especially in the second half Pompey controlled the game. Cardiff started strongly but Diarra was superb and the defence were back to their best. Fair play to Cardiff, we applauded their busses leaving Wembley and they returned the sentiment. Real footy fans, which is more than can be said for some of the Man U comments. Sorry fellas, was our year so back to eating your prawn ciabattas and wherever you live in Surrey we'll be seeing you at the Charity Sheild

As an Arsenal fan, I have enjoyed the final. Cardiff were great in the 1st half, but Pompey commanded the game after then all the way through the whistle. Cardiff were organised defensively, yet they weren't playing passive football, instead they had lots of initiatives, especially from set pieces. Portsmouth have numerous players with natural talent (Diarra, Kranjcar,..) and relied on that in attempt to penetrate a well disciplined Cardiff side. Jones had his job well done, and for Harry I would say that being the 1st English manager to win the FA cup since 1995 should make you proud of yourself and your decent side. Go Go Pompey

Steve Harris (Liverpool fan) says...

Best part for me was to see the great Sir Bobby Robson present the trophy. Well done Pompey , probably the most ardent locally supported team around and well done Harry , it would be great to see your boys up near the top next year. From an ardent LUFC supporter hope we see the ' play up pompey' brigade an anfield next year. Great supporters always welcome, oh and finally 'come on Chelski'!!!

Stephen Green says...

(Pompey) Unfortunately, myself, wife and daughter were forced to leave Wembley at half time due to numerous aggressive Cardiff fans who were verbally threatening physical violence unless we left our seats which were allocated to us by the FA. Police and stewards were not interested in our plight. The friendly final I think not!

Justin Tomson (Tamworth fan) says...

Haha Leon Carter, dont make me laugh!! If Bolton or Reading had the teams you had to play they wouldve probably won the F.A Cup and most the teams you. You won't ever be in the top 4, you would need the richest geezer in the world to buy your club for that to happen.

Pete S (sunderland fan ) says...

Great final good to see two teams away from the top four playing in the FA Cup. Good to see both managers who have had their problems overcome them and take two unfancied teams to Wembley. As a neutral I didn't know who I wanted to win, but enjoy a good cup final, which I did. So congrats to Pompey & Cardiff you did the final credit.Great to see Sir Bobby there a true gentleman and a fantastic manager.

David Foreman says...

Dave Jones and Harry Rednapp both deserve a pat on the back for getting their teams to the final, it was a refeshing change to see two teams in the FA Cup Final who gave no quater to each other and just went for it. Too may times in recent years have we watched a tatical game. Well done to Portsmouths but the real winners were all the supporters who follow football regardless which team they support

Richard Moody (Portsmouth fan) says...

Great result, so happy we won. Followed pompey for 30 odd years & never thought i would see this!!! Great atmosphere to the game as well & can you imagine if it had of been Man utd in the final they would have had the reserves out as the cup means nothing to them compared to europe. We had our luck on this run but you have to use that & we did. Why cant certain supporters show some good grace for once? Well done arry & the boys....now to get the passport renewed!!!!!

Joe Smith (Arsenal fan) says...

Congrats to both Pompey and Cardiff for a memorable final, it was good to see someone other than the 'big four' winning. Credit to Harry Redknapp as he's been a quality manager for years and is finally getting the praise he deserves. Dave Wilson, like prawn sandwiches much? i'm actually quite embarrassed that you claim to be an Arsenal fan and yet quite clearly know nothing about football.

Leon Carter (Portsmouth fan) says...

To all the top 4 and bleeters out there Pompey is here and here to stay, so about time u got used to it. Portsmouth f c have done brilliantly on their budget and looks like Pompey have given the top 4 a kick up the jacksy, because with better players about to arrive we will break the top 4.

Chris Mcmahon (Manchester United fan) says...

I thought it was a decent final, first half had a few chances for both teams. I didn't think portsmouth played particulaly well, Diarra did well in midfield driving the team forward and Johnsen looked good at right back.I think portsmouth were quite lucky though, 'Calamity' James pulled off his usual blunder, still blatent at what aged 37 he still cant claim a cross, as Andy Gray said he's still prone to a blunder once a game. Good shot stopper, but england number one?? Joe hart all the way and I'm a red! Cardiff don't seem to have any firepower up front, hasselbaink was dredfull way past it like fowler, thought there best player was Whittingham and they ended up taking him off! Seem to me a game for the 'has been' strikers, Kanu and Hasselbaink both well past it, both can barely move, difference was Kanu's technical abitlity. Good to see Redknapp getting a trophy finally though, all the bungs have finally paid off!! United for next years final, aslong as we dont play 'bring him down in the box time every time he plays' Tomasz Kuszczak'!! Lets hope the reds stuff Chelski next week in memory of the mighty busby babes.
