I totally agree with the Middlesbrough man Michael Whitmore. How can Torres possibly have got player of the weekend? He set a new record with a goal which was first class but the rest of his performance was ordinary. Downing should have got this nod with a sublime volleyed goal out of his two and a great all round contribution in setting up plays and goals elsewhere. I honestly wonder if the people on Sky that make these lists ever watch anything other than the big 4 play.

I don't see why Torres makes the team of the week and Yakubu doesn't. Everton's game had much more at stake and he scored twice, does that count for nothing?

Obviously it was a great day for Manchester United, but lets give a little love to the bottom of the table Fulham's triumph is a true Cinderella story.

surely stewart downign or afonso alves for player of the weekend. torres only got one goal against a tottenham team that cant wait for next season and playing like a typical end of season team. afonso alves gets his first hatrick in english football and stewart downing orchestrates a 8-1 win over a team thats lookign to defend their manager.
