I don't think that there is anything wrong with Keegan being realistic in his assessment of the task he faces. If you speak to most Toon fans they will tell you that we would be over the moon if we managed to secure european football next season, but it's certainly not expected, as reported by the southern biased media, including the paper review on Sky Sports this morning! We need to take a long-term approach if we are ever to compete over a full season with the top 4. We have made a good start by signing some good young prospects for the future and with the enthusiasm of KK, the financial support of Ashley, the scouting of Wise and co and the guile of Mort things are going in the right direction.....but Rome wasnt built in a day! Howay the Toon!

i think that uefa cup spot will be enough for the toon army but keegan has a lot to do in the summer regarding who leaves and who he buys

I don't like this defeatist talk. We should not be waving the white flag to the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea. Once we get a fully fit squad and strengthen our defence then we should be able to compete with anybody.
