Lakeside Hammers missed the chance to go level with Poole at the top of the Sky Sports Elite League.

Lakeside were away to Peterborough - but The Panthers were forced to field Conference League guest Simon Lambert for new signing Ryan Sullivan as he already had commitments in Russia.

However, Lakeside failed to take advantage of the weakened line-up although the match still ended in a 36-36 draw with the weather halting matters at the East of England Showground three heats early.

Kenneth Bjerre led The Panthers brilliantly with a 12-point maximum - whilst Lukas Dryml, Danny King (6+1) and Claus Vissing (6+1) all contributed well.

Lakeside used rider-replacement for the injured Jonas Davidsson but the high-flying Hammers could not get the better of the lowly Panthers.

Reserve Ricky Kling performed brilliantly for 13+2 but there just wasn't the support needed to push them to victory with Adam Shields landing seven, Kauko Nieminen six plus one and Andreas Jonsson six.

Swindon kept up the pressure on Lakeside in third as they comfortably beat Coventry 51-39.

The Robins had too much for The Bees with Leigh Adams (13), Troy Batchelor (12), Jurica Pavlic (10+2) and Mads Korneliussen (8+1) all in fine form.

Coventry's top-four Hans Andersen (11), Chris Harris (9). Olly Allen (7+3) and Simon Stead (7) all scored well but there was little else for them.

Ipswich consolidated their place in the fourth and final Play-off berth as they came through 49-41 against Wolverhampton.

The Witches were made to work hard by bottom of the table Wolves but eventually came through with a strong finish at Foxhall.

Jarek Hampel was again top man for the home side with 12, whilst Piotr Swiderski (9+2) and Steve Johnston (9+2) all scored heavily.

Wolves battled throughout with top-two Freddie Lindgren (12) and Niels-Kristian Iversen (10) top-scoring.
