The Undertaker and Batista will go head-to-head at Smackdown on Friday night for the World Heavyweight title.
Smackdown general manager Vickie Guerrero has arranged the match as she continues to make life as difficult as possible for The Phenom.
Edge lies in wait for the winner at Backlash as The Animal and Undertaker resume battle after last Friday's Smackdown showdown finished in a double count-out.
Both men seemed determined to pummel each other into submission outside the ring and the referee had no option but to count both men out in the non-title bout.
As the fight ended the Undertaker spotted Edge in the crowd and hurled him into the action as the title challenger received a taster of what he may be sampling at Backlash should The Phenom successfully defend his title.
