McAllister: Happy with squad

Gary McAllister has admitted he will not be rushing into the loan market unless the right type of player comes along.

Leeds turned in a supreme performance on Saturday as they defeated Crewe 5-2 to climb up to sixth in League One.

McAllister does not feel there is much need to look for new recruits, although he insists he would always try to bring in a top player if they were available.

"After Saturday's performance do I need to be going into the loan market?" said the manager.

"We will continue to try and bring players into the club who we think will make us better and we are not in the market for quantity now, it's quality we want."

Delph praise

Teenage sensation Fabian Delph struck the opener in the demolition of Crewe and McAllister believes he has a bright future ahead of him.

"Fabian's a wonderful footballer and he's very pleasing on the eye, but we've just got to keep adding little pieces to his game," he explained.

"We don't really need to tell him much about controlling and passing the ball as he has that in abundance, but we'll continue to drip feed him information.

"He plays in an area of the pitch I used to play in, so naturally it's a position I look at with particular interest and the one thing I've been mentioning to Fab is getting involved in passing movements

"The next step is to control the middle of the park and have a pop at goal, which he certainly did on Saturday."

Telfer knock

McAllister is hopeful that Paul Telfer will be fit to face Swindon this weekend after picking up a knock against Crewe.

He said: "Paul Telfer felt a little tug on his groin when he hit a few long balls towards the end, but he should be fine."
