Super 14 side turn to former Samoa and New Zealand No.8

Former Samoa and New Zealand No.8 Pat Lam has been appointed as the new coach of the Auckland Blues.
Lam, who played for the Crusaders, Newcastle and Northampton, has agreed a three-year deal to replace David Nucifora at the Super 14 franchise.
The 39-year-old had been coaching Auckland in the Air New Zealand Cup, leading them to two championship titles and one play-off spot - while he was the assistant coach to the Scotland side for the 2003 World Cup.
"I am very proud of the achievements of the Auckland provincial team and have relished my role as coach for the last four years," Lam said.
"However, I have aspired to coach a team in the Super 14, ideally the Blues. That opportunity has arrived and I am delighted."
Lam will remain charge of the Auckland side until the end of August.

Fantastic news ! Being a huge Bath, and England fan, and all round general rugby fan, its great to see one of the best overseas players that graced the Guiness Premiership, coaching such a great team with a great legacy as the Auckland Blues. Well done, and good luck Pat Lam
