George Smith: Honour
George Smith has been named Australian Super 14 Player of the Year for the third consecutive time, just sneaking the award from Phil Waugh.
Smith, who also led the Brumbies for the first half of an injury-interrupted season and notched up his 100th appearance, matches Chris Latham's three awards in a row from 2003-2005 inclusive.
His younger brother Tyrone made it a family double by taking the Rookie of the Year award too, giving a string of performances that resulted in a call-up for the Barbarians squad for the end-of-year tour.
Waratahs boss Ewen McKenzie scooped the Coach of the Year award for taking his side to second place in the tournament under heavy pressure, and Stuart Dickinson was made Referee of the Year.
Peter Hynes' stepping effort against the Crusaders inwas the Try of the Year.
