Newcastle Falcons are preparing for the new season by clinching deals with two of the club's most promising young forwards.
Peter Browne and Tim Swinson have both signed one-year deals with the Falcons having broken through to make their first-team debuts during the 2007/9 campaign.
Falcons director of rugby Steve Bates said: "Both Peter and Tim are outstanding young prospects who have earned first team recognition over the past season, and we look forward to working with them during the coming campaign."
"As a club we have been renowned for developing top young backs through our academy, and while that work still continues, what we are seeing at the moment is a very strong group of forwards also coming through the system."
Back row Browne helped the Falcons Development Team to second place in the Guinness A League as well as already playing for England Students.
The Durham University student made his Falcons first-team debut again London Wasps. By winning a turnover with his very first touch in the Guinness Premiership the 20-year-old is clearly a major line out threat and big physical runner.
The 20-year-old lock Swinson also made five appearances for the Falcons first team this year, having been named Tynedale's player of the season while on loan at the National League side.
The Newscastle University politics student has also previously appeared in an Australian grand final when playing for the Sydney University club.
