Beattie: New deal
Ross Beattie "is hungry for more" after signing a new one-year deal with Newcastle.
After a "tough year of rehab" from a shoulder injury the talented forward finally made a return to the pitch for three appearances for the Falcons.
Falcons director of rugby Steve Bates, who has worked with Beattie previously, was happy to comment on the new signing: "Ross has shown tremendous character this season, and we are delighted to have him on board for next year."
Although last season was spent recuperating at Kingston Park, Beattie returned to the game briefly at the end of this season and highlighted the benefits he will bring to the team.
"In the last few games of the season we got a glimpse of the ball-carrying and physicality that he adds to this team, while his attitude behind the scenes has been absolutely outstanding," said Bates.
Commenting on his previous time with the Falcons, he is glad he has been given a "second chance" to return to play for them.
Beattie said: "I have had a time away from the Falcons since my first spell here, and as they say you don't know what you've got until it's gone."
With a summer of hard training under his belt both the Falcons and Beattie will be looking forward to seeing the impact he will have during next season.
Beattie declared: "I'm looking forward to hitting the ground running when the new campaign comes round."
