Tait: Staying at Falcons
Newcastle may have lost Mathew Tait to Sale, however the England centre's younger brother Alex has committed himself to the Falcons for a further season.
The England Under-20s star, who like his brother is equally as comfortable in the centres as he is at full-back, made his debut for the Falcons this season - scoring a hat-trick in the process.
Tait went on to make 10 appearances for the first team, while he also played a key role in the development team that finished second in the Guinness A League.
Newcastle's interim director of rugby Steve Bates said: "Alex is an outstanding young player, and we are delighted that he has agreed a new deal with the club.
"He is naturally very athletic, has a fearless attitude to the physical aspects of the game and has demonstrated a real willingness to learn as he looks to make the step up in to regular senior rugby."
