Steyn: Will start the final Test
South Africa have opted to name a weakened line-up for the final Test against the British and Irish Lions in Johannesburg this Saturday.
Despite having the chance to record a series whitewash against the Lions, coach Peter de Villiers has made a number of changes to his side.
Zane Kirchner, Odwa Ndungane, Wynand Olivier, Jaque Fourie, Jongi Nokwe and second Test hero Morne Steyn, who came off the bench in Pretoria to kick the winning penalty, are named in the backline, while Ryan Kankowski, Heinrich Brussow, Johann Muller and Chiliboy Ralepelle bolster the pack.
The Boks were already without the suspended Bakkies Botha and Schalk Burger, while Jean de Villiers was among a number of players carrying knocks after a bruising second Test in Pretoria.
And with one eye on the Tri-Nations series, the Boks have opted to rotate their side.
South Africa: 15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Odwa Ndungane, 13 Jaque Fourie, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Jongi Nokwe, 10 Morne Steyn, 9 Fourie du Preez, 8 Ryan Kankowski, 7 Juan Smith, 6 Heinrich Brussow, 5 Victor Matfield, 4 Johann Muller, 3 John Smit, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 1 Tendai Mtawarira.
Replacements:1> 16 Bismarck du Plessis, 17 Guthro Steenkamp, 18 Dean Carstens, 19 Steven Sykes, 20 Pierre Spies, 21 Ruan Pienaar, 22 Frans Steyn.
