Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have re-signed Australian half-back Ben Jeffries for next season from West Yorkshire rivals Bradford.

Jeffries, who turned 29 last week, scored 69 tries in 143 appearances in his first spell at Belle Vue between 2002 and 2007 before moving to Odsal.

He has made 20 Super League appearances for the Bulls this season, scoring four tries in that time, and has been named in Steve McNamara's squad for Bradford's final game of the regular Super League season on Friday night.

Should the Bulls fail to beat the Airlie Birds then he will have played his last competitive game for the club at the KC Stadium and the former St George and Wests Tigers stand-off cannot wait to return to Wakefield.

Motivation

"It's good to be coming back and I can't wait to wear the Trinity colours once again, " he said.

"I'm joining the club to win silverware and with the other signings the club have made I think we have got a very good chance of doing that."

Jeffries has signed a three-year deal with the Wildcats from 2010 and is the fifth major signing by the club for next season, following the acquisition of Bradford pair Terry Newton and Glenn Morrison and overseas duo Daryl Millard and Shane Tronc.

Wakefield coach John Kear said: "I obviously know Ben from his time here first time round and I'm delighted to have him as a part of our squad for the next three years.

"He is a very talented player with lots of Super League experience behind him and he still has his best years ahead of him."

The Wildcats, meanwhile, round off their campaign at home to Hull KR on Saturday afternoon, ahead of the play-offs.
