Michael Korkidas will remain on loan at the Wakefield Wildcats for the 2010 season.

The Australian, 28, rejoined the Wildcats at the end of May in an exchange deal with Huddersfield involving Danny Sculthorpe.

Korkidas has played in the final 12 matches of the engage Super League season to help Wakefield clinch a play-off spot.

"We're delighted to secure the services of Michael for a further 12 months," said Wakefield coach John Kear.

"He has continued his great recent form and we look forward to him producing further outstanding performances."

The former Sydney Roosters front-rower, who had a year left on his contract with Huddersfield, originally joined Wakefield in 2003 and also had spells with Salford and Castleford.

Huddersfield managing director Michael Thewlis said: "The arrangement for Michael has worked out well for all three parties and we are happy to extend it until the end of the 2010 season."
