Ricky Hatton has told skysports.com that he is 'fit as a fiddle'.
Reports had suggested the Hitman was struggling with a chest infection less than two weeks before his Homecoming fight with Juan Lazcano, live on Sky Box Office.
But Hatton insists the problem has cleared up - and only meant a couple of days out of his usual training regime.
"It's true I did have a virus but I went to the doctor who prescribed antibiotics a few weeks back and he told to me ease off the gas for a couple of days," he told his skysports.com Fight Diary.
"As I prepared for this fight with a twelve-week camp it wasn't a problem."
Hatton's father and promoter Ray Hatton had already confirmed that the Homecoming bill at the City of Manchester Stadium bill is going ahead.
But the Hitman, who defends his IBO light-welterweight title against Mexican-born Lazcano at the City of Manchester Stadium on May 24, says he will be 100 per cent come fight night.
And he says he will prove his fitness to the media at Thursday's press day at Billy Graham's gym in Denton.
"The doctors told me that the virus is out of my system - as the press will see when they come down to the media workout on Thursday," he said.
