Seve Ballesteros has been released from intensive care following surgery on a brain tumour at Madrid's La Paz hospital.
A hospital statement read: "Severiano Ballesteros has left the intensive care unit and has now changed ward.
"Although this is good news, I would like to ask for everyone's patience - because the process is a lengthy one, and there is still a long way to go. He is continuing his recovery and is receiving visits."
The 51-year-old Spaniard underwent surgery on October 24 to remove the brain tumour and reduce swelling around the brain. He was admitted on October 6 after fainting at Madrid's international airport.
