With Ryder Cup qualifying points put to bed for another 12 months, normality returns to the European Tour with this week's European Masters in Switzerland.

The Omega-sponsored tournament returns to Crans-Sur-Sierre which has been hosting European Tour events for the past six decades.

Set in the Swiss Alps, the picturesque venue is one of the most popular stops on the calendar. It is also traditionally one of the lowest scoring layouts on Tour.

Opened 100 years ago, Crans has twice been redesigned - most recently by Seve Ballesteros in 1999.

It is undulating, tree-lined and because of its high altitude, the ball travels approximately 10 per cent further than normal.

So who's teeing-up this week?

Bradley Dredge: Winner in 2006, the Welshman missed out on making it a three-way play-off last year by a single shot. He was also tied for seventh at Gleneagles on Sunday.

Ricardo Gonzalez: Played well for three rounds at Gleneagles last week and was a winner in Crans seven years ago.

Miguel Angel Jimenez: Continues his quest to catch Padraig Harrington at the top of the European Order of Merit. Was runner-up at Crans-sur-Sierre in 2004.

Marcel Siem: Second in Switzerland two years ago, the German posted a top-six finish in Scotland over the weekend.

Simon Wakefield: Still seeking a maiden Tour title and, with most of Europe's Ryder Cup qualifiers taking a break this week, will fancy his chances.

Johan Edfors: The big-hitting Swede is coming off a decent week at Gleneagles and has finished in the top 20 of this event in each of the last two years.
