Hussey: Instructed to rest
David Hussey will not play for Nottinghamshire this season after being instructed to rest by Cricket Australia.
The batsman had been due to arrive at Trent Bridge at the end of the one-day series against West Indies in the Caribbean.
However, the county have now confirmed the 30-year-old will not be able to fulfull his commitments as their overseas player.
Instead Hussey's compatriot Adam Voges will remain with Notts, although he too will be on international duty for the final six weeks of the domestic season.
"David's situation has changed somewhat in that he is now centrally contracted by Australia so he won't play for us at all this season," director of cricket Mick Newell said.
"I have spoken to him personally and he would have liked to have spent some time with us but it isn't going to be possible in the circumstances.
"He's contracted to us for next season as well and we're hopeful that we'll see him at some stage, but Adam has proved to be an excellent acquisition and we're pleased that he'll have the chance to spend more time at Trent Bridge."
Notts intend to sign a replacement overseas player for the closing stages of the campaign in place of Australian Voges.
