England seamer Stuart Broad looks set to return for the third one-day international against South Africa in Cape Town on Friday.
Broad missed the opening two matches of the series due to a shoulder injury.
He took a full part in practice on Wednesday and a team spokesman confirmed the Nottinghamshire bowler will be available for selection at Newlands.
"It's always frustrating when you're missing cricket," he said. "But it's fantastic the way the lads have started the tour.
"I'm just looking forward to pushing my way back into the side and adding to what has been a great start to the tour."
He was relieved to discover the damage to his shoulder was not too bad - and he is confident the injury is behind him.
"It wasn't a structural damage; it was just an impingement in the shoulder," he added.
"That's gone now, and it should be fine. There are no long-lasting effects to it."
With James Anderson also able to bowl despite a minor knee injury, Graeme Swann and Alastair Cook are the only members of the touring party still on the sidelines with respective side and back problems.
England lead the five-match series 1-0 after a seven-wicket victory at Centurion last Sunday. The opening match at the Wanderers was washed out.
