O'Neill: Backing Lerner
Martin O'Neill has assured Aston Villa supporters that owner Randy Lerner has lost none of his passion for the club.
The American businessman has spent less time with Villa this season as he has had to focus on his struggling NFL franchise, the Cleveland Browns.
But having worked with Lerner since he took charge at Villa in August 2006, O'Neill has no doubts about his commitment.
Lerner has devoted as much time as he can to the club and invested heavily to help turn Villa into a major Premier League force.
O'Neill can understand why he has returned to USA and insists Villa fans should not be at all worried.
"He has seen less games this season live with us than he has done before," the Villa manager told the Daily Mirror.
"But he has seen all the games and gets them at his home to watch.
"I don't really have any conversations with him about the Cleveland Browns as I have enough concerns of my own here.
"But I don't think he has lost any ambition here because of it.
"He is committed to making Villa better, improving the stadium at Villa Park - and those are things he wants to do here at the football club."
