Storrie: Charged
Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie has been charged with tax evasion by the City of London Police.
Storrie has been on bail since being arrested in November 2007 on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.
He has now been formally charged as part of the ongoing investigation into corruption in football, with prosecutors accusing him of concealing a signing-on fee for Amdy Faye.
Midfielder Faye joined Pompey from Auxerre in 2003 for £1.5million but it is claimed that Storrie arranged a signing-on fee of £250,000.
This was to be paid via agent Willie McKay between July 2003 and August 2005.
It is alleged this was a means of avoiding tax and national insurance contributions.
A spokesman for HM Revenue and Customs Prosecution Office (RCPO) has confirmed Storrie will appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on 16th November.
Storrie recently reacted with astonishment to news of the charge and vowed to clear his name.
