Ronaldo: Great night
Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken of his delight at winning a memorable double with Manchester United.
The Portuguese winger endured a rollercoaster night against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League final on Wednesday.
He notched his 42nd goal of a remarkable season during normal time, before seeing his spot kick saved by Petr Cech in a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.
With United going on to take the title for the first time in nine years, Ronaldo was able to brush off the disappointment of seeing his final touch of the campaign beaten away by the Blues keeper.
"Well this is football, I score a goal in the game but I miss the penalty, but this happens," he told Sky Sports.
"I feel very proud for the lads, they believe all the time and they deserve to win the Champions League.
"This is everything for me, I have looked forward to winning this competition and this is my first Champions League.
"We won the Premier League as well, it is a magnificent season for me."
