Rooney: Eyes goals
I've not played as well for England as I have for Manchester United. I don't know why the goals have not come for my country.
Wayne Rooney has admitted his lack of goals for England is becoming a worry.
Despite scoring goals against Macedonia and Liechtenstein back in 2003, the Manchester United ace has now gone 16 competitive games without finding the net.
You have to go back to Euro 2004 for Rooney's last goal in a competitive fixture and the former Everton striker is determined to put the record straight.
The 21-year-old is frustrated at what has been said about him and is targeting the games against Estonia and Russia to find his top form.
"I've not played as well for England as I have for Manchester United," stated Rooney. "I don't know why the goals have not come for my country.
"When I first started playing for England I did really well, but the last couple of years have not gone as well as I would have liked.
"It has been frustrating and I have read about it, listened to things said and watched people talk about me.
"I'll just have to play well and get a couple of goals in the next two matches and help England qualify."
Jermain Defoe, Darren Bent and Jimmy Bullard all earn Kammy's praise, unlike Michel Platini...
The Insider believes Man Utd striker Michael Owen must be in England's 2010 World Cup squad.

Rooney is going through one of those phases that every striker goes through at some point. Wether he scores or not it makes no difference to his game, he is a quality player and i'm sure it's only a matter of time before he finds his stride and the goals come pouring in.

Rooney is by far the best English player since Gazza, there's no need to worry about the boys form. I think he'll score today, should silence the doubters and ease the pressure on him and then you'll see the real player shine through.

Wayne is surely capable of more goals. Give the lad time and he'll surely come up with the goods. He needs to paired alongside the living legend Michael Owen, no only will he gain experience and a few tips but will learn to be more composed and calm as no one has thicken skin than Michael Owen(mentally). And you cant find a deadlier duo than him and Owen up front. With Owen's experience composure and accuracy and Wayne's pace agility and talent England's future could never be sunnier. If he can gel well with Owen and get some passes right then surely Rooney's goal-scoring form wont be far away!

Roon has been unlucky. With the kind of displays he gives and ends up not scoring is just amazing. His injuries have always come at an unfortunate time particularly for England. We know what he is capable of and the goals will come.

I think rooney is fantastic, he adds more to england than just goals. England look much more alive when he is on the pitch. He's a brilliant player whether he scores goals or not.
