Steve McClaren is on his way back to England, with his new Eredivisie outfit FC Twente.
The outcome of the draw for the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League has pitted McClaren's new outfit against Arsenal.
Opta look at the records between McClaren and his French counterpart Arsene Wenger.
Twente reached the latter stages of qualifying courtesy of a play-off win against Ajax at the end of last season.
However, their hopes of reaching the group stages of Europe's grandest tournament are slim to say the least.
In 14 games between Arsene Wenger and McClaren as bosses of Arsenal and Middlesbrough respectively, the Frenchman has won 11 against McClaren's three victories.
| Wenger v McClaren | Wenger wins | McClaren wins | Draws | Arsenal goals | Boro goals |
| Premier League | 9 | 1 | 0 | 32 | 7 |
| FA Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 1 |
| League Cup | 0 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 3 |
| Total | 11 | 3 | 0 | 38 | 11 |
In cup competition though, McClaren can take heart from 2004 when Middlesbrough beat Arsenal twice, home and away, in the League Cup semi-finals - Boro would go on to win the trophy against Bolton.
One thing that is guaranteed when both managers meet up is the level of entertainment. Indeed, there have been 49 goals scored in 14 head to heads between Wenger and McClaren, that's 3.5 goals/game. Blaise Kufo, Twente's top scorer in the last five seasons, will certainly want to add to McClaren's tally.
McClaren will not want to remember his last meeting with Wenger though - back in January 2006, Arsenal thrashed Boro 7-0 at Highbury.
