Arsene Wenger has revealed he is in contract negotiations with the Arsenal board.

The Gunners manager has yet to extend his current contract and there is a sense of uncertainty surrounding the French tactician's future at the Emirates.

However, Wenger has eased the worries of the Arsenal faithful by admitting talks are taking place and he insists all will soon become clear.

"I will come out at the right moment, do not worry about that," Wenger said.

The Arsenal boss has also reiterated that he will not be panic buying ahead of the end of the transfer window.

Arsenal's main Premier League rivals, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been busy in the pre-season transfer market, but Wenger is content.

Deadline

The summer transfer deadline is on 31st August, but while Wenger admits he is continuing to look for players, he also believes his current squad is in good shape after watching his side defeat Ajax 1-0 to hand The Gunners the Amsterdam Trophy on Saturday.

"I am not sleeping," Wenger added.

"However, today we had Gilberto out in midfield, [Alex] Song, [Abou] Diaby and [Cesc] Fabregas did not play.

"So we have plenty of quality players, and the pre-season tells you that we have a big squad."
