Fulop: Sunderland return

Sunderland goalkeeper Marton Fulop has been recalled from his loan spell at Leicester with the Foxes keen to agree a permanent deal.

The 24-year-old Hungarian returns to Wearside on Thursday after manager Roy Keane activated a recall clause in his season-long loan.

However, his Stadium of Light stay could prove to be brief with Leicester reported to have tabled a £1million bid for his services.

That would represent a profit of around £500,000 on what the Black Cats paid Tottenham for the player when he headed north as part of the deal which took Ben Alnwick in the opposite direction 12 months ago.

Keane claims he would be happy to have Fulop competing with £9million signing Craig Gordon and Darren Ward for the number one spot at the Stadium of Light with youngster Trevor Carson waiting in the wings.

Fulop has been a hit at Leicester, and has played under four managers this season - Martin Allen, who signed him before being sacked, Gary Megson, caretaker Gerry Taggart and current boss Ian Holloway.
