Fulop: Optimistic

Marton Fulop has told skysports.com that he remains hopeful of securing a move to Stoke.

The Hungarian keeper is currently on the books of Sunderland but has found first-team football hard to come by at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats are yet to reach an agreement with Stoke in regards to a fee for the player, but Fulop is optimistic that a compromise can be reached.

Fulop moved to the Britannia Stadium on loan briefly last season, but was recalled without playing as the Roy Keane needed cover.

"I can confirm that Stoke City want to sign me. The talks are going very well," Fulop told skysports.com.

Price

"If everything goes well then my future will be decided in the next two weeks. I do want to leave Sunderland in order to have first-team football.

"What do I know about my price? As I know the amount that was written in the media is correct (£1.7million).

"We still haven't talked about my Stoke contract as first the two clubs should agree on me. But I'm very optimistic."

It had been reported that Sunderland boss Keane wanted more money for the 25-year-old, but he may be persuaded to lower his demands.
