John Arne Riise's agent has refused to comment on speculation linking the Liverpool defender with a move to Italian outfit Roma.

Jan Kvalheim confirmed that 'many clubs' have been interested in signing the 27-year-old Norwegian international.

But he would not comment on the Italian link-up as Riise waits for his Anfield future to be resolved.

He told VG: "There are many clubs who have been interested in the last few weeks, but it's nothing I want to comment on."

His statement comes amid speculation in both the English and Italian press of a £5million switch to the Serie A runners-up.

Riise was signed for £4million from Monaco in 2001 and has since made 234 appearances for the Reds, scoring 21 times.
