Quotes of the week
Micah Richards has responded to speculation regarding a move to rivals Manchester United, saying he is happy at Manchester City.
Richards, who enjoyed a fine first-half to the season before a damaged cartilage ended his campaign, has been linked with a £30 million move to the newly-crowned Premier League champions.
The 19-year old has insisted, however, that he remains committed to his current employers and that he is not engineering a move away from the City of Manchester stadium.
"I'm happy at Manchester City, particularly after what I feel has been a successful season for us," he told skysports.com.
"Manchester United are a great club with a great manager in Sir Alex Ferguson, but I'm only concentrating on regaining full fitness.
The future of Ferguson's cross-city rival Sven Goran Eriksson is currently uncertain, with speculation mounting he will lose his job.
And Richards wants the situation resolved as soon as possible so the club can move forward.
"I hope that the Mr Eriksson's position is sorted soon one way or the other so that we can focus on football instead."
Richards was speaking at the Futebol de Salão Carnegie Cup, one of Britain's largest football tournaments organised by the Brazilian Soccer Schools in conjunction with Leeds Metropolitan University's Carnegie initiative.
After watching the tournament's final, the Leeds-born youngster added: "It's been a fantastic day, returning to my hometown and watching such a high standard of football.
"I played at the Brazilian Soccer Schools myself and feel that the methods they use are the most effective in developing your skills."
