David Haye will be conceding seven stones when he challenges world heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev.

The Londoner tipped the scales at a career-heavy 15st 8lbs at Friday's weigh-in at the Mercado Shopping Centre in Nuremberg.

He was of course, dwarfed by the seven-foot champion Valuev, who came in lighter than usual, but still weighed a whopping 22st 8lbs.

Haye revealed on Thursday night that he had no idea how his weight was going, but many people expected him to come in under the 16-stones mark, ensuring his speed will be at a maximum.

His previous heaviest was the 15st 7lbs he weighed for his heavyweight debut against Tomasz Bonin in 2007, while he has added just a pound from his last outing a year ago.

Valuev is a full two stones lighter than his record weight - which is the heaviest for a world champion - and just five pounds shy of his lightest weight, the 22st 2lbs, against Evander Holyfield.

The disparity is 7 stones- a full 7lbs short of the world-record difference for a title fight, which was Valuev's win over Monte Barrett.

Sky Sports' Jim Watt was at the weigh-in and was impressed with what he saw.

"It is only one pound heavier than he's ever been and you had to expect him to bulk up slightly," he said.

"But aside from what he actually weighed, he looked tremendous - there didn't look to be an ounce on him that shouldn't be there."

"What really impressed me was the menace in his eyes as he stared at Valuev. He stared straight at him, didn't blink or turn away throughout the whole head-to-head. He means business."

And that says Watt, means going for the knockout.

Valuev has never been floored in 52 professional fights but Haye has been promising to smash that record all week long.

"When I came out here I hoped that David was going to go into the fight with a cool head and have a 12-round plan," said Watt.

"I didn't think it was going to happen and now I know it's not going to happen - he's going to go in there for the knockout. It's going to be sensational."
