Valencia, Spain, has been announced as the venue for a Formula 1 race in 2008, the event to be named as the European Grand Prix. It will be held on a circuit around the Spanish port's streets in the Valencia Street Circuit.

Valencia will be the first new street course in Formula 1 since Albert Park, which has hosted the Australian Grand Prix since 1996. The other street circuits on the calendar are the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the newly added Singapore Street Circuit and Monaco, which was included in the first World Championship season in 1950, and has hosted a Grand Prix every year since 1955.

The deal to host the race was signed on June 01, 2007 and is for seven years.
