Brown's headed makes it 1-1.
The full-time whistle goes and England have got away with a 2-2 draw. Some credit is deserved for twice coming from a goal behind but the crowd's extremely muted reaction on the full-time whistle tells its own story. The Czech Republic will be extremely frustrated they let this one slip but their manager will go home the happier. What will Capello make of this drab England performance?
90 Just a minute to play and England appear to have got out of jail.
90 Michal Papadopoulos replaces Plasil.
90 GOAL!!! Bentley's corner causes huge confusion in the Czech box and somehow England bundle the ball over the line with Joe Cole claiming the goal.
90 Good work by Downing. He beats his man, gets in a deep cross and Brown almost gets onto the end of it. There are half-hearted appeals for a penalty but all England get is a corner.
90 Into the final minute. There will be four minutes of added time... to endure.
89 Heskey nods the ball down nicely for Downing and although the Middlesbrough man connects well his effort is always going wide.
88 The Czech Republic's Jan Polak is voted man-of-the-match for his very tidy performance.
87 Capello cuts a miserable figure on the sidelines as England continue to go nowhere fast.
86 Jim in San Diego is back on to say: After my outburst on the squad earlier, and in light of the recent commentary from Capello about the national team, do you suppose Capello is trying to get sacked?
85 Engalnd continue to huff and puff without creating anything clear-cut. The atmosphere is very subdued how.
84 Jenas is caught offside as Bentley takes a Brown cross and tries to slip through a pass.
83 Poor cross from Downing after being released in space down the left.
82 Clumsy challenge from Brown as the Czechs play neat triangles in midfield. Plenty of England fans heading to the exits already.
81 Bentley has two goes at a left-wing corner but England can't profit from either.
80 Lots of e-mails flooding in castigating England's players and their poor performance.
79 Lampard is replaced by Bentley. Audible booing for Lampard's contribution. Beckham is replaced by Jermaine Jenas and the No.7 is cheered.
78 Beckham's corner drops in the area to Brown whose shot is blocked. Heskey and Rozehnal both go down but are okay to continue.
77 Corner for England after good work by the Coles.
76 Thanks for you brilliant support says the stadium announcer as the crowd jeer a poor England pass.
75 The Czechs make a double switch with Michal Kadlec and Jan Rajnoch replacing Kovac and Shirl.
74 Free-kick on the right to England. Beckham's delivery is underhit yet again. Apart from the cross for the goal his balls in have been poor.
73 Downing spreads the ball out nicely to Beckham who nods back to Joe Cole. He tries to play in Heskey but the ball is intercepted.
72 Tidy work by the Czech midfield highlights England's shortcomings.
71 Beckham's deep cross is well taken by Cech. Too near the goalkeeper that one.
70 Capello is really starting to get animated on the sidelines.
69 England seem to have hit a wall for the time being. Capello will be hoping for a big push in the final 20 minutes.
68 On comes Stuart Downing for Rooney as Capello scrambles around for the right formula.
67 Lovely one-two from Sverkos and Plasil before the former's low shot is saved by James, who almost spills it back into the path of the Czechs.
66 Woodgate has to head away when James should surely have come to catch or punch.
65 Woodgate gives the ball away as the crowd continue to get a little frustrated.
Grant Styles writes: Once again another pointless game, John Terry England Captain Why!!!! Becks has had is time is not good enough any more, should just give up as soon as possible!!!!!! Why play our best midfielder out of postion, and then complain that he does not play well. Keeps playing Lampard when he can't play in this formation. I thought we were supposed to be going forward not backwards, We could play this team for another ten years we won't win a thing or qualify!!!!!! No wonder Barwick wants out.
64 Beckham goes for the near post but it's easily cleared. Disappointing.
63 Heskey tries a flick forward for Rooney but it's cut out. England press again and Ashley Cole does well to win a free-kick down the left.
62 Rooney does well to keep possession outside of the box but his ball across to Joe Cole is mishit and the moment passes.
61 Jankulovski goes down after being bumped by his own goalkeeper and stays down for treatment.
60 Poor touch from Heskey allows the visitors to break. David James has a rush of blood to the head and comes way out of the box only for Sverkos to knock the ball past him on the wing. The angle is too tight for the sub to cash in though and his attempted shot is poor and doesn't even hit the side-netting. James smiles sheepishly.
59 Good possession football from the Czechs but it ultimately comes to nothing.
58 Double switch for England. Off come Gerrard and Ferdinand and their places are taken by Jonathan Woodgate and Joe Cole.
57 Kovac finds sub Jarolim in acres of space but his 25-yard effor skews high and wide.
56 Rooney feeds in Heskey but the strike's shot is horribly mistimed and the Czechs clear. A Beckham cross is then underhit and there's some frustrated noises from the crowd.
55 England are preparing to bring on Joe Cole while Bentley also looks as if he'll be on soon.
54 Brown's cross is cleared.
53 Time for David Bentley yet? England need to turn this game around so surely Capello will be looking to shuffle his pack.
52 Nice play by Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard as England break forward in numbers. The Chelsea man plays in Gerrard but he can't get his shot off.
51 Shirl is caught offside as the men in red break forward again.
50 The Czechs have made three substitutions at half-time with Gygera, Vlcek and first goalscorer Baros all making way. On have come Zdenek Pospech, David Jarolim and Vaclav Sverkos.
49 England look for a quick reply but can't make anything of a Beckham cross.
48 GOAL!!! Fantastic curling strike from skipper Jankulovski gives James no chance. 2-1 to the visitors.
47 Free-kick to the visitors on the edge of the box in a very dangerous position.
46 The Czechs fly out of the blocks and Polak fires just wide.
46 The second half is under way. England have brought on Emile Heskey for Defoe.
Sky Bet odds compiler Mike Triffitt says Baros was a good result for first goalscorer. England popular pre0match and in running pre-goal too and punters continued to support the Three Lions despite Baros goal and with England touching a high of 3/1 in running we at Sky Bet are hoping for no further England goals in second half!!!!
Michael Webster says: Seems like another pointless 45minutes, put on J.Cole And D.Bentley and push forward, Take off G.Barry and Beckham. Beckham's had his time but needs to let go and England need to look towards the future and win comfortably. I can't see it happening at the moment, they need to think a lot harder if they want to win competitions. Teams are not going to hand it to them on a plate.
Andrew Canavan says: Why are we continuing to play the ball out wide and cross into 2 of the smallest forwards we have!! If Capello wants to play Lamps and Gerrard then he has to play 5 across the middle including a left-sided player like Joe Cole. Capello is playing the same tactics with the same team as before and again it isn't working!!

Gary Hamilton from Brighton writes: Once again no change to the set up of the team. Why is it that every manager that we have cannot see that the team lacks balance through the midfield. Everyone knows that Lampard and Gerrard cannot play in the same team, let alone playing one of them out of position on the left!!!! When will someone realise that the best players do not make the best team. That is not rocket science. I am increasingly more and more frustrated with the whole England set up. What does Capello and co. namely Mclaren and Sven see that the whole country can't. Why not play Barry on the left? He's left footed isn't he!! Gerrard and Lampard are too similar in the middle, Becks, will he be around in two years time? Sorry but I have no enthusiasm whatsoever for this current line up.
Anne Burnett in "lovely sunny Hawaii" writes: As the comments state, we have great individual players. But I hope we can find the best combination of players for the Croatian game!! It is just that we need the "belief." We can win!!
45 The half-time whistle goes and thanks to Brown's header England are clapped off rather than whistled.
45 Into first-half injury-time. This time Brown does good work at the other end to head home Grygera's cross.
45 GOAL!!! The unlikely figure of Wes Brown pulls England level with his first international goal. It's as simple as they come. Beckham whips in a corner and Brown arrives at the near post to head home. 1-1.
44 Beckham's free-kick is underhit but at least he wins a corner.
44 Jankulovski whips in the free-kick but it's an easy catch for James. He releases the ball quickly and Defoe wins a free-kick out wide.
43 Plasil is fed by Kovac and wins a free-kick on the right.
42 Rooney and Gerrard link up well and find Defoe but he's crowded out as he tries to shoot. This Czech defence are an extremely solid unit.
41 Rozehnal makes amends by heading Beckham's corner clear. The No.7's deliveries have been very modest so far.
40 Cole crosses and David Rozehnal rather slices his clearance behind for a corner on the left.
39 Another warning of how dangerous the Czechs can be on the break as Baros and Polak worry the England defence. England counter and Gerrard's shot is saved by Cech.
38 Better from England as Gerrard threads a cute pass through to Defoe who really tests Cech with a thumping left-foot drive. England win a corner which is cleared.
37 The ball sits up nicely for Rooney on the run but his volley isn't the best and Cech saves despite a small fumble.
36 Clever play by Polak in midfield. Surprise, surprise a visiting team look so much more comfortable on the ball than England.
35 Lovely pass by Brown to Gerrard, who wins a corner. In it comes from Beckham but Cech punches decisively and the danger passes.
34 Rooney again drops deep to get the ball. Gerrard crosses but once more England are outnumbered in the box.
33 Beckham's cross is headed away by Ujfalusi. The Czechs break, run down the other end and Jan Polak fires wide. It highlights how dangerous the visitors can be on the break.
32 Sharp play by Defoe who unleashes a first-time effort but once more Cech has his angles right.
31 Cech flaps at Beckham's cross but the visitors clear. It comes back to Becks, whose cross is met by Rooney's head but the goalkeeper is well positioned to make an easy save.
31 Decent cross from Brown and it has to be turned over his own bar by Ujfalusi for a corner.
30 Gerrard drives forward again but he tries a subtle chip forward rather than a shot and it's easily intercepted.
29 There may be an injury to Cech. The bench are watching him although he's continuing for the time being.
28 Lampard brings down Plasil after good play by Shirl.
27 Sharper passing from England with Gerrard and Rooney setting up Defoe for a shap-shot. He hits it quite well but Cech is right behind his strike.
26 Zdenek Grygera is alert to stop a Gerrard pass finding its way through to Rooney.
25 Baros tries a cheeky flick after being fed by Plasil but England intercept.
24 Cole tries to win a corner down the left but Vlcek tracks back and it goes the Czech Republic's way.
23 England look for a quick response but the visitors look well organised at the back.
22 GOAL!!! Baros finds space in the box, turns John Terry and his shot deflects off Cole and past James. Lovely build-up play by the Czechs and it's Baros' first goal for his country since December.
21 Capello is out in his technical area barking orders. Perhaps it's to do with England's poor crossing.
20 Gerrard chips a cross into the area but it's easy for Cech. No final ball yet from England.
19 Clumsy ball forward by Barry but Cole wins the ball back before Beckham crosses. Once again it's headed clear, exposing the fact that England have very little height up front.
18 Patient build-up by England before Rooney's cross is headed away.
17 It's a narrow angle but Beckham tries to drive the free-kick into the danger area and test Czech but it hits the wall.
16 Gerrard drives at the Czechs and is brought down by Tomas Ujfalusi... just inches outside of the box.
15 Baros gets free in the box and despite the attention of Ferdinand and a tight angle he tests James with a sharp low shot. The goalkeeper can only palm it back into the middle of the area so it's a good job for England that Wes Brown is sweeping up.
15 Excellent defensive play by Ashley Cole sparks another England attack.
14 Rooney gets his feet in a muddle down the left and the Czechs have a goal-kick. Plasil returns to the fray although he's not exactly moving freely.
13 Play is held up while Plasil receives treatment. He limps to the touchline so the Czechs are currently a man down.
12 Jaroslav Plasil is caught late by Barry and the Villa midfielder receives a yellow card. A silly challenge in these slippy conditions.
11 Lampard plays a hospital pass to Ferdinand but the defender just gets there in front of Milan Baros.
10 Good pressing from England but Frank Lampard rushes his cross and there's no-one in the Czech box.
9 Rooney is dropping very deep to get involved in the game.
8 Gerrard cuts in from the left and unleashes a piledriver which the diving Cech is glad to beat away. Great strike from the Liverpool man.
7 A scare for England. Nice play in midfield leads to a cross from the left and Stanislav Vlcek drags a shot wide of James' left-hand post.
6 Rooney is caught late by Radoslav Kovac and England win a free-kick 40 yards out. Beckham tries to pick out John Terry but Petr Cech comes out and punches clear.
5 Rio Ferdinand steps out of defence but has to dash back after David Beckham's cross is headed clear.
4 First real touches of the ball for the visitors although it's amongst their back four so England won't mind that.
3 Good early possession for England with Gareth Barry and Wayne Rooney very involved.
2 Looks like 4-4-2 for England. Steven Gerrard tries to play a ball up to Jermain Defoe but the Czechs clear.
1 It's been raining for the last hour and a half so the surface is quite greasy.
KICK-OFF: England, in traditional white shirts, get the game under way against the all-in-red Czechs.
Good singing of the national anthem from Ray Clemence but Fabio doesn't appear to have learned the words yet.
Tim in Harrogate, North Yorkshire writes: Think it is a good team, maybe would have liked Joe Cole to play, with either Lampard on the bench or play Rooney up front alone. I think we have a lack of quality up front and would like to see a fit Michel Owen and definitely have Peter Crouch instead of Heskey
Chris in Colorado says: If we have Rooney & Defoe up front, there's no room in the line up for Beckham. Defoe is too short and can't take advantage of his crosses and Rooney comes deep to get the ball.
Jim in San Diego, California says: Rooney isn't a striker, and the midfield looks over-indulged. Hasn't Capello learned anything from his predecessors? You can't run out the club stars, just because you want to present quality, you have to field a team which can play together. They may be great individual players, but the past 2 years have shown they do not play well as a team. At least the U21s show the commitment necessary, probably should have run out that side instead.
England team: James, Brown, A Cole, Ferdinand, Terry (Captain), Beckham, Barry, Lampard, Gerrard, Defoe, Rooney.
Czech Republic: Cech, Grygera, Ujfalusi, Rozehnal, Jankulovski, Vlcek, Kovac, Polak, Plasil, Shirl, Baros. Subs: Zitka, Kadlec, Pospech, Jarolim, Rajnoch, Papadopulos, Sverkos.
Referee: Terje Hauge (Norway)
Joe Cole finds himself squeezed out of the England side tonight. The Chelsea man would normally have expected to be stationed on the left side of midfield but instead coach Fabio Capello will shunt either Frank Lampard or Steven Gerrard into the wider role. Jermain Defoe's inclusion, the first time he has started three successive internationals since the start of Steve McClaren's reign in 2006, alongside Wayne Rooney up front means one less position in midfield. Aston Villa's Gareth Barry is handed a holding role, so with David Beckham on the right flank, Lampard or Gerrard will be needed for balance on the other side. As expected, Wes Brown is handed the right-back slot he occupied for almost all of last season at Manchester United, with newly-installed skipper John Terry alongside Rio Ferdinand in central defence. Defoe's club-mate David James is named as goalkeeper, bringing the Portsmouth contingent to two, leaving Paul Robinson and Joe Hart on the bench, which also contains the other 10 members of Capello's final squad before the World Cup qualification campaign begins against Andorra next month.
