Full-time: Pompey 1 Cardiff 0. It's all over and Harry Redknapp's men have done it. They will be playing Uefa Cup football next season, while Cardiff suffer Wembley heartache.
90 + 4 - Last chance: Cardiff win a last corner but are unable to force a goal.
Booked: Diarra receives a late caution.
90 + 3 - Safe hands: James is able to take a wickedly bouncing ball high above his head, despite a strong challenge from Thompson.
90 + 2 - Tired: Cardiff are battling bravely but can't find the killer ball which would open up the opportunity they so desperately need.
90 - Time-wasting: Pompey know how close they are and play the ball short after winning a corner.
89 - Desperate: Cardiff put Pompey under all sorts of pressure but are ultimately unable to find a way through. McPhail and Thompson both take wild swings at goal, only to be denied by heroic defending from Distin and Johnson.
88 - Poor delivery: Sinclair's first touch sees him send a woeful cross over the heads of the waiting masses in the box and out for a goal-kick. Cardiff cannot afford to be that wasteful with possession.
Sub: Sincalir comes on in place of Rae for Cardiff, while goal scoring hero Kanu makes way for Baros in Pompey's final change.
85 - What a run: Distin takes matters into his own hands and sets off on a mazy frun from the halfway line. It makes it into the penalty area before his touch lets him down and he is unable to get away a shot. It would have been a fantastic goal and put the result beyond doubt had he been able to keep his composure.
83 - Needless: Kanu tries to skip past McNaughton but does not have the pace to chase his own ball. As a result, the big Nigerian ends up bundling over the full-back and conceding a free-kick.
82 - Bright: Ramsay has made an impact since his introduction and looks a real threat down the right. Cardiff need to get the ball to him as often as possible and let him run at Hreidarsson.
81 - Tense: The pressure is growing on the respective benches, and Redknapp and Jones are both on their feet unable to contain their emotions. Who will be celebrating in 10 minutes time? If anybody, as we could still go the distance.
79 - Slice: Rae again does well on the right flank and forces Disitin into a hurried clearance. Loovens attacks the resulting corner well, but sees his downward header bounce up and over the bar.
Sub: Pedro Mendes makes way for Papa Bouba Diop.
77 - Hanging cross: Rae loops in a cross from the right towards Thompson. The striker battles well to get up ahead of Johnson but the full-back's presence prevents him making a telling contact.
Extra-time: The last three cup finals have gone longer than 90 minutes, can Cardiff make it four? Ross in New Jersey thinks so and is backing Ramsay to be the hero, before the Welsh side take the cup on penalties.
75 - Well over: Johnson climbs well to meet a corner from the left, but can't keep his header down and fails to trouble James.
Just reward: Colin in La Manga feels FA Cup glory would be a fitting reward for Harry Redknapp's contribution to football.
73 - Wild: Ledley tries his luck from 25-yards but slices his shot high into the stands behind David James' goal. Is that a sign that Cardiff are starting to get frustrated and desperate?
72 - Good run:Nugent ghosts in behind down the right, and with no support, fires in an effort from a tight angle which needs pushing round the post by Enckelman. Bright start by the new man. The resulting corner comes to nothing and Cardiff are quick to get back on the counter.
Sub: Thompson comes on in place of Hasselbaink.
Fowler needed? Would the former Liverpool man have been the ideal substitute to come on and find a goal. Will Dave Jones be left to rue that decision? Glenn certainly thinks that the wily old front-man could have done a job for the Bluebirds.
Sub: Utaka has been hobbling a bit and makes way for Nugent. He has gone to play right side instead of up top with Kanu. Another sign that Harry Redknapp is not prepared to take any risks.
68 - Service: The balls into Hasselbaink and Parry must be better, because at the moment Campbell and Distin are able to clear up any attempted through balls with ease.
66 - Isolated: Kanu is cutting a lone figure up front for Pompey, and is doing little to help the cause as he fails to hold up possession in the final third. The second-half is yet to spring to life, so hopefully we are in for an exciting final 20 minutes or so.
Late drama: Wayne reckons Cardiff will grab a late equaliser before going on to win in extra-time. Alan and Michael go 3-0 Pompey, while Glenn in NYC has his fingers crossed that Portsmouth can hold on. I doubt he is the only one getting increasingly nervous as time ebbs away.
63 - Keep ball: It seems early to start playing among themselves, but Pompey appear happy to sit on what they have and keep things tight. Can't blame them, but it would be nice if they tried to kill the game off.
Sub: Whittingham makes way for Ramsay in the Bluebirds' first change.
60 - Control: Cardiff have lost some of their early momentum and Portsmouth look comfortable at the moment. Judging by the action on the sidelines Cardiff may be about to make a change.
African lions: There is plenty of African talent on show today, and Awonugba and Kelinde are backing Kanu and co. to do the business. Meanwhile, Neil sees the game finishing 3-2 to Cardiff while Jeremy goes 2-1 Pompey.
56 - Flap: Enckelman gets something on Diarra's corner but only parries straight to Muntari on the edge of the box. The Pompey winger takes aim, but drags his effort disappointing wide of the goal.
55 - High line: Portsmouth are taking chances by playing high up the pitch, and Cardiff are looking to get the ball in behind at every opportunity. You have to think it's only a matter of time before they find a way through.
Booked: Kranjcar is cautioned for a clumsy challenge on Whittingham.
53 - Almost two: Great play by Kranjcar and Muntari on the left. The ball is eventually pulled back to Kanu and he sees his effort deflected inches wide of the post. Loovens appeared to lean into the ball as he blocked it and is maybe fortunate not to concede a penalty.
51 - Side netting: Whittingham's set-piece is allowed to carry all the way to the back post where Johnson plants a firm header into the side of the goal. Some of the Cardiff fans are on their feet, but the ball has fallen the wrong side if the post. It appears as though the Bluebirds should have had a corner, but the decision goes Pompey's way.
49 - Solid: Johnson lofts a free-kick into the heart of the Cardiff box, but Johnson does brilliantly to hold off Kanu and steer the ball to safety.
Brits abroad: Thanks to James and Joe for getting in touch from uni in Long Island and backing Pompey to lift the trophy. Also to Karl in Japan and Tony in Mallorca for keeping tabs on proceedings with skysports.com.
46 - Long-throw: Capaldi really can launch balls into the box from the sidelines, and is throw-in is allowed to bounce in the Pompey box before Campbell hacks clears. Portsmouth have looked shaky at the back at times which will give the Bluebirds hope.
Second-half: Cardiff get us up and running again.
Upper-hand: In response to Momo's query on the text I would say that Cardiff have been the better side during the first-half, but have failed to take advantage of their opportunities. Portsmouth have done enough to grab a goal, but whether they can hold on remains to be seen.
More to come: I'm not going to be so bold as to stick my neck out and predict a winner, but I feel that we haven't seen the end of the scoring and we will be in for an action-packed last 45. Let's hope so anyway!
Predictions: Ian in Iraq and Chris in West Virginia are confident that Cardiff can turn things around after the break. Kezius in Australia thinks Pompey will win 3-0, while Chris is Jamaica is revelling in his 'Kanu to score' prediction and feels that Harry Redknapp's men can build on their advantage during the second period. Half-time: Pompey 1 Cardiff 0. The Premier League side lead at the break but I get the feeling this game is far from over.
45 + 2 - Ruled out: James fails to reel in a corner from the right and sees Loovens loop the ball back over his head and past the goal-line efforts of Johnson. However, the goal won't stand as Mike Dean has awarded a free-kick to the Pompey keeper. Strange decision as there was not much in the challenge and Pompey have got off the hook.
Booked: Hreidarsson is cautioned for disputing the award of a free-kick against him.
Faith: Josh is backing Joe Ledley to be Cardiff's hero, and grab a brace in a thrilling comeback. The youngster has the ability to make a real impact in the game, but has been quiet thus far.
44 - Knock: McPhail takes an arm to the face and spills the first blood of the cup final. He looks okay to continue, but needs a few seconds to clear his head.
42 - Confident: Cardiff don't appear to have let their heads drop and have put Pompey immediately on the back foot. They look more than capable of finding a breakthrough and need to just bide their time and not start chasing a game which they are still very much in.
40 - Difficult: Parry breaks into space down the left. He looks up well, but his ball across towards McNaughton is overhit and gives the full-back no chance to control his resulting shot. A warning sign for Pompey, while Parry should have done better.
Greetings from a far: Chris is Dubai sees Pompey getting another and winning 2-0, while Dave in Vegas feels Cardiff can pull it back.
37 - GOAL: Pompey 1 Cardiff 0. Enckelman makes another fine mess of a cross from the right, this time from Utaka. He only manages to parry the ball striaght to Kanu and the can hardly miss when presented with an open goal. Game on!
35 - Just off: Muntari flicks a clever ball into the path of Kanu, only to see the linesman's flag put an end to the move. The striker had gone a fraction too soon, but it was close and he would have been in had he delayed his run.
34 - Stinger: Pedro Medes opens up from 25-yards but fires straight down the throat of a relieved Enckelman. The Portuguese is well capable from distance and Cardiff can ill afford to allow him room on the edge of the box.
32 - Well read: Hasselbaink tries to pull the ballback to his strike partner Parry, but is denied by the outstreched leg of Distin. The Frenchman had to get there and gets a slap on the back from Campbell.
30 - Quiet: After a frantic few minutes the game has become a midfield battle once more. There are definitely spaces for both sides to exploit and I can't see us staying goalless for long.
Legends: John in Dublin wants to see Hasselbaink snatch a winner, and Jay is disappointed that Fowler is not invloved. I must admit that it seems a strange choice to leave someone of his experience and talent out of the squad.
Favoured result: Derek in St Helena and Larne in Northern Ireland see the game finishing 2-1. Derek to Pompey, Larne to Cardiff. Kailesh sees us going to penalties, while Ian in Oz is backing the Premier League side to cruise to a 4-0 victory.
27 - So close: Johnson is allowed a free header in the centre of the box and watches in horror as his effort drifts agonisingly wide of the far post. The Portsmouth defence was cut wide open there and they are lucky to escape.
25 - Too long: Whittingham's corner from the right threatens to reach Loovens at the far post, but it has fractionally too much height on it and sails over the defender's head. Good response by Cardiff to the Kanu chance.
24 - Well worked: Whittingham and Parry work a training ground free-kick routine which gives the latter an opportunity to get a strike on goal 10-yards out. However, he takes a wild swing, scuffs the ball, and the opportunity goes begging.
22 - How did he miss: Great play by Kanu as he dances round Loovens' challenge and Enckelman's sprawl, then with the goal at his mercy he procedes to hit the outside of the post. He was faced with a tight angle, but really should have scored.
19 - No problem: James comes through the crowd to take a commanding claim as the Bluebirds' set-piece comes to nothing.
18 - Safety: Cardiff swing over a dangerous free-kick to the back post which Campbell is forced to head behind.
More support: Thanks to Max in Singapore for getting in touch and backing Cardiff. Also Zeeshan in Dubai and Paddy in Oz for nailing their colours to the Pompey mast. Steve in Malta sees Dave Jones celebrating a success, while Noel in the US of A backs Portsmouth to win 3-2.
15 - End-to-end: Enckelman makes a meal of dealing with a free-kick from the right and almost gives Distin a tap-in at the far post. He is bailed out by his defenders, but he got very lucky.
14 - In again: The ball breaks to Whittingham on the edge of the box, but the winger gets his shot all wrong and slices it wide of the post. Two great opportunities for Cardiff. Will they live to rue them?
13 - Great chance: Cardiff have the first sight of goal. Ledley slides a beautiful ball into Parry, but James closes the angles well and knocks the effort away off his chest.
12 - Skips away: Hasselbaink looks to get in down the right once more, but as soon as the ball touches the turf it skips away and out of touch.
11 - Easing in: Portsmouth have given the ball away far too easily at times and are conceding needless free-kicks. The Premier League side know they are in a contest and will need to up their game if they are to live up to their pre-game billing as favourites.
9 - Threat: Johnson manages to squeeze over a cross from the right, but McNaughton does well at the back post to shield the ball away from danger and prevent Kranjcar from getting a sight of goal.
Worldwide audience: Rob is Canada has thrown his weight behind Pompey and is hoping for a 2-1 success. Just goes to show the appeal that this competition still has that supporters in every corner of the globe are tuned in right now.
7 - Corner: First of the game is swung over by Ledley, but Portsmouth have plenty of height at the back and clear their lines. Cardiff have settled well and don't appear to have been overawed by the occasion.
5 - Slippy: A few players are losing their footing early on which is hardly surprising considering the amount of rain which has fallen prior to kick-off. It should help both sides' passing game, but could also conjure up some embarrasing moments.
4 - Power: Hasselbaink gets an early touch and shows that he will be a handful this afternoon with a powerful run down the right. Hreidarsson is a big lad as well though and ushers him away from goal.
Predictions: Ian is going for a 2-1 Cardiff win in extra-time, while Ross backs Portsmouth to ease home 3-1. Anything can happen on days like this so it could go either way.
2 - Break: Parry threatens to get in behind, but James reads the danger well ad scurries out of his box to tidy up. Bright start by both sides.
1 - Ambitious: Muntari tries his luck with a free-kick from fully 35-yards. It takes a couple of deflections on the way through but Enckelman gets right behind. Worth an effort on the slick surface.
Kick-off: Pompey get us started to a giant roar from the Wembley crowd.
Bluebirds to soar: Plenty of support for Cardiff coming through. Nick is going for a 3-2 thriller. That would be definitely be nice! Richard and Mark are also backing the Welsh side. Meanwhile, Chris, a Pompey fan in Jamaica, feels that Premier League class will prevail and Harry's men will run out 3-0 winners. The time for talking is over though, let battle commence!

Pompey are gracing this stage of the competition for the first time in 69 years, while Cardiff have been forced to wait since 1927 for another chance to get their hands on the famous trophy. West Ham were the last side from outside the top flight to emerge victorious, back in 1980, and 2008 will represent the first time in 13 years that the 'big four' have not taken the crown.
Welcome to skysports.com's minute-by-minute commentary of the FA Cup final between Cardiff and Portsmouth. History beckons for one of these sides but veteran striker Robbie Fowler will play no part in today's proceedings. He has not even made the bench as Dave Jones announces that he will start with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Paul Parry up front. Let us know your views and predictions by using the feedback button in the scorecentre and stand by for more team news from Portsmouth, who have arrived at the stadium surprisingly late.
