A versatile defender with plenty of promise, Cristian Sapunaru is another former Under 21 star likely to be going along for the experience.
With more senior and established defenders in Victor Piturca's squad, Sapunaru is only likely to play in the event of injuries.
But his ability to play at full-back and centre-half could come in useful for Romania, if any problems beset the squad.
Sapunaru spent much of his early club career at National Bucharest before joining Rapid Bucharest in 2006.
