There are certain riders who you love to watch in action - and Tomasz Gollob is that man for me.
I know the Polish maestro hasn't always been top of the popularity stakes here in the UK, but he's big box office and I'm sure there are many people, like me, who can't wait to see him in action at the FIM British Grand Prix.
Yes, it's Cardiff time. We'll be there to bring you all the action live on Sky Sports, of course, on Saturday June 28 at the magnificent Millennium Stadium.
Reigning world champion Nicki Pedersen is in the driving seat to retain his title this season - but in Gollob he has a serious challenger who, for the sake of the competition, I hope can push him all the way.
There is no better sight than Gollob in full flow on a speedway bike. He is, on his day, the complete rider. Not only can he do it from the gate, he is pure class from the back which is what the fans pay to watch.
His performance in last year's World Cup for his country was awesome last year, making other world-class riders look nothing better than ordinary.
I often say I believe Leigh Adams is the greatest rider never to have won the world title. But Tomasz isn't far behind, he's a fantastic rider and showman when he's in the mood.
And there's the key. When he's in the mood. He can also be the most frustrating of riders to watch as sometimes he can trail in last and you have to question his attitude and effort - his 'racing head' clearly isn't on in those circumstances.
But when he's at his best, he's brilliant. And I hope he's got his 'racing head' on at Cardiff and we can all see the race for the world title go down to the wire.
The burning question, however, has to be how the meeting will live up to last year. Chris Harris' win was remarkable to say the least. Bring it on.
Cardiff prediction: Gollob, N Pedersen, Crump, Nicholls.
Lakeside have failed with an audacious attempt to lure Grand Prix star Rune Holta to British speedway.
Swindon Robins have confirmed that they already have Croatian starlet Jurica Pavlic signed up for 2009 season.
Exeter Falcons will be back on track next season, it has been confirmed.
Swindon Robins consolidated their place in third by thumping basement club Wolverhampton 63-29.
Poole snatched the initiative in the first leg of their Knockout Cup semi-final replay against Coventry as they rode to a 56-36 win.
