Somerset must again do without Andy Caddick for the County Championship fixture with Yorkshire at Taunton.

The veteran seamer has yet to feature this season following winter back surgery but had been touted to make his comeback against the Tykes.

However, the table-topping Cidemen are keen not to rush the 39-year-old back too quickly.

Tykes lose skipper

Yorkshire captain Darren Gough misses the trip to the Westcountry due to a back injury.

The former England seamer suffered a recurrence of the problem during the Tykes' FP Trophy quarter-final win over Gloucestershire on Wednesday.

Anthony McGrath takes over the leadership duties and will be able to call on the services of Matthew Hoggard, who made a three-wicket return from a broken thumb during the Gloucestershire victory.

David Wainwright and Steve Patterson are in the frame to replace Ben Sanderson, who has been dropped after featuring in the draw against Lancashire last time out.

Seam trio Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Deon Kruis and Ajmal Shahzad are still missing with hamstring injuries. Shahzad is a week away from returning but Kruis and Naved remain sidelined for approximately a month and six weeks respectively.
